About Me

IMG_1044Hi I’m Debbie, Welcome!  I’m so excited you stopped by, I love being creative, throwing fabulous parties, decorating on a budget, cooking my heart out, and sharing my weight loss highs and lows.

My long career in the medical field ended when the doctor I worked for retired, he was one of the few solo practices left in town.  We were able to provide such wonderful care for our patients and many of them were like family.  The job was demanding, but very rewarding.  I felt like I made a difference in peoples lives.  Shortly after my job ended I took another one with two other doctors which was just short of a nightmare.  I had a headache every day, my stomach was always in knots.  I felt like I was drowning and there was no way to save myself.  I decided this was not the way I wanted to live my life so I quite.  My decision was made, I’m done with the medical field!

My family and friends keep telling me to do something I enjoyed.  Well, I love throwing a fabulous party.  I get so excited with the planning, shopping, the DIY, and pulling it all together.  I have always had a passion for decorating and I always have some DIY project I’m working on.  I’m also passionate about cooking and taking it to the next level, I enjoy  writing and telling stories. So with advice from my family and friends, my husband as my IT person, following my heart and many prayers, Simply Me & My Blog was born.

    • We did put this together ourselves using WordPress which has a lot of built in themes. We are currently using the theme named Twenty Eleven. Thanks for the compliment.

  1. Hey! I understand this is kind of off-topic however I needed to ask.
Does operating a well-established website like yours require
a large amount of work? I am brand new to running a blog but I do write in my diary on a daily
basis. I’d like to start a blog so I can easily share my personal experience and thoughts online.
Please let me know if you have any kind of ideas or tips for brand new aspiring blog owners.
    Thankyou!

    • It does take time and work to establish and maintain a website, but it’s worth it. Lots of online tutorials and help are out there if you want to dive into building your own website.
